Everything you need to know about working with RidgeWey

From first consultation to final installation and beyond.

You can begin your journey with a private design consultation at our Surrey studio or via a virtual appointment, whichever is most convenient for you.

Our initial consultation is an opportunity to discuss your vision in depth and gain a clear understanding of your project, whether you’re looking to create a beautifully bespoke kitchen or design an entire home.

We take the time to understand how you live, cook, entertain and unwind, exploring both the practical requirements and the finer details that make a home uniquely yours. We’ll also discuss your budget, timescales and aspirations, allowing us to develop an initial design concept that reflects your lifestyle while balancing timeless elegance with exceptional functionality.

From the very first conversation, our focus is on creating a considered, highly personalised design journey that is as enjoyable as the finished result.

Often, what starts with a kitchen or dressing room evolves into a project for an entire private home. Large or small, our comprehensive approach ensures unmatched quality assurance and workmanship. Whether design-led or production-led, every project is tailored to your lifestyle and tastes, resulting in a truly bespoke product.

Our approach is collaborative, considered and deeply personal. We begin by understanding how you live, your aspirations for the space and the details that matter most to you. Our showroom provides a tactile environment where you can experience materials, craftsmanship and carefully curated displays, helping to visualise scale, proportion and finish with confidence.

Together, we explore our extensive collection of materials, finishes, hardware and textiles, carefully curating a palette that reflects your vision. Every selection is made with intention, ensuring the design evolves seamlessly while remaining true to your expectations and the character of your home.

Every RidgeWey project begins with a clear design intention. Whether inspired by a striking architectural feature, a framed garden view, an existing piece of furniture or artwork, or a new focal point created through the design itself, we establish a strong visual narrative that guides every subsequent decision.

Where a client has a clear vision, we refine and elevate it, where they seek our direction, we create a considered concept that reflects both the architecture of the home and the way it will be lived in.

Material selection is central to our process. We carefully consider the character, performance and longevity of every surface, finish and detail – selecting materials not only for their beauty but for their appropriateness to the home and the people who use it. The needs of a young family differ from those of a pied-à-terre or a keen entertainer – and every choice is made with daily life in mind.

Across every project, our values remain constant: thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship and an enduring appreciation for honest, beautifully detailed materials. The result is an interior that feels timeless, personal and entirely at home in its surroundings.

Every RidgeWey commission is uniquely tailored, making each project as individual as the home itself. As a guide, our bespoke kitchen projects typically begin in the region of £45,000–£60,000, with larger whole house interior commissions reflecting the scale, complexity and level of specification involved.

The final project value is shaped by a number of factors, including the size of the project, the architectural context, the choice of materials and finishes, the number of window treatments and the level of bespoke craftsmanship required.

From the outset, we provide a detailed and transparent proposal, ensuring you have a clear understanding of the investment and scope before your project moves forward.

Not at all. While kitchens are at the heart of many projects, we also design dressing rooms, living spaces, boot rooms, wine rooms & humidors and whole house interiors, from bespoke joinery, to window treatments and styling.

Our in-house expertise allows us to manage projects of all sizes, from initial concept and precision engineering to installation, aftercare and beyond.

We provide a concept-to-completion service, blending creativity with innovative precision engineering. Our product ranges come from Germany, Italy, and the UK, giving us the flexibility to deliver timeless design, modern functionality, and uncompromising quality.

Your project will be led by RidgeWey’s experienced design team, each bringing a distinct perspective and specialist expertise to the creative process:

  • Susie Aling – Studio Manager & Lead Designer
  • Robyn Hennessey – Creative Director & Interior Designer
  • Stuart Luckman – Founder & Design Director

Working collaboratively the team combines creative vision, technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail to deliver interiors that are beautifully resolved, thoughtfully considered and tailored entirely to the way you live.

Our payment schedule is structured to provide complete transparency throughout your project, with each stage aligned to key milestones in the design and manufacturing process.

  • 10% Design Deposit – Payable upon approval of the design concept, enabling the release of detailed drawings and visualisations. This deposit is credited in full against the total project value should you proceed with the order.
  • 40% Production Payment – Due at technical sign-off, allowing your bespoke cabinetry and selected furnishings to move into production.
  • 50% Final Balance – Payable 21 days prior to the scheduled delivery date, or within 14 days of your order arriving at RidgeWey for inspection and preparation, whichever occurs first.

Every RidgeWey project follows a carefully considered programme, allowing the time required for thoughtful design development, meticulous detailing and the creation of bespoke elements.

From the initial consultation through to final installation, most kitchen commissions are completed within four to eight months, depending on the scale, complexity and level of craftsmanship involved. Meanwhile a larger whole house interior design project naturally require a longer programme to accommodate the breadth of design, procurement and installation.

At the outset of every commission we provide a tailored project schedule, clearly outlining each stage of the journey. The team will guide you throughout the process, ensuring expectations are managed and every milestone is delivered with care and precision.
